Our Story

How it all started...

Pastor Dan Crespo, his wife Lynda and their five children were called by the Lord in 1998 to leave a growing church in Rochester, NY and to relocate to Puerto Rico. They  arrived on the island in February 1998 and rented a house in Caguas where, in July 1998, Calvary Chapel of Puerto Rico began. As we grew, we were offered the opportunity to share a building with another Christian church at 122 Condado Ave in Santurce. In October 1998 we moved to that location. After meeting for over one year in Santurce, we started looking for a new place of meeting. The Lord opened the door for us to lease our current location in Los Jardines Shopping Center in Guaynabo. We have met here since May of 2000, and have seen the Lord bless abundantly, with several ministries being birthed to bless and help our community.

Expanding the vision...

The Lord eventually moved Pastor Dan and Lynda full circle back to Rochester where they began our sister church Calvary Chapel Center City. During those 5 years of transition, the Lord raised up our current Senior Pastor, Jason Dennett, and his wife Gina. Throughout the last 10 years, the Lord has grown the Church both in numbers and in depth, allowing us to host evangelistic concerts, have two radio programs, support missionaries, and much more. The Lord has also faithfully protected and used our church through many natural disasters, even allowing us to distribute over 2 million pounds of food and water during the aftermath of hurricane Maria and share the Gospel and disciple many along the way.

Where we are headed...

We continue to seek the Lord's direction for our Church as He continues to move us to the next horizon. We are continuing with the calling Jesus has given us; to faithfully teach the Word of God verse by verse, to preach the full Gospel to all that will listen, and to invite people into the glorious New Covenant Jesus offers us. CCPR's vision remains unchanged. To know the Lord Jesus in personal intimacy, and to make Him known to all of Puerto Rico and beyond!
